Eclipse is a unique personal data project by Ana Lúcia—an award-winning Brazilian graphic designer and Director of Data Visualization at FIB. Presented as a “book-object” that narrates a 30-day story through data visualizations, Eclipse represents a creative fusion of design and data. Ana Lúcia’s personal projects focus on making complex information accessible and engaging.

Project Goal: and for Eclipse, she required a video that would not only showcase the project but also explain its concept and practical use in an engaging manner.
It was delivered a video (English and Portuguese versions) combining video editing and 2D animation, with direct integration between After Effects and Premiere. The final piece included storyboarding, motion graphics, color grading, and real footage integration, ensuring a smooth and engaging presentation.
In collaboration with Ana Lúcia, we understood the concept of maintaining key visual elements—circles, black-and-white tones, and time progression—to reflect the project’s essence. The animation guided viewers through the book’s movement and interaction while real footage added authenticity. A linear narrative structure ensured clarity in presenting all elements of the book.
The final video effectively translated Eclipse into a compelling digital experience, expanding its reach beyond the physical object and deepening audience engagement.
